Good afternoon, I would like to share the results after using the anti-friction additive to oil Lubrifilm Bortec.
First, a little background!
I live in harsh climates, severe frosts in winter, -50 C is the rule rather than the exception. Operating a car in such frosts is more like extreme sports, frozen suspension, tight brakes, but the engine suffers the most, especially when starting. Starting cold is always a risk, even despite the fact that the engine is filled with 0W40 synthetics. It hurts to hear the engine running, especially the first 10 minutes until the oil passes through the channels. The engine works with a strain and you understand that with such a start, there is a lot of wear on all rubbing parts. Therefore, the issue of engine protection has become acute, I must say that last winter I poured an anti-friction additive into the engine from Suprotec, but to be honest, I did not notice any difference. This winter I decided to try an additive with microceramics, there are many positive things written about such additives in oil on the Internet. I chose Lubrifilm Bortec, I was attracted by the European quality and the latest technology.
The order arrived surprisingly quickly, in 7 days, I admit I thought it would be a drag, but the managers worked quickly, for which I have great respect to them.
Application
The company recommends changing the oil before using the additive, and this is correct. Fresh oil does not contain metal particles and other crap, so the effect of the additive will be most effective. But I did not do this, the fact is that I changed the oil almost recently, with flushing the oil system, so I drove less than 1000 km on fresh oil. The rest is according to the instructions, warmed up the engine, diluted the additive in a small amount of warm engine oil, I had some left for topping up, poured it into the oil filler neck, started it. That's it!
Started it and left it idling, went into the house to warm up and have some tea. Came out about 40 minutes later and my first reaction was TERRIFICATION! I couldn't hear the car running! My first thought was "WTF", it stalled, something happened! I ran up and it was running, only surprisingly quietly. The revs, especially the idle, in such frosts are usually high 1000-1100 rpm, and here it was 850!!! I got behind the wheel, the engine was practically inaudible in the cabin, the tachometer readings were being given. I thought I'd give it a go. The thrust increased, the car accelerated better, especially uphill. But for me, the most important test of the additive was postponed until tomorrow, the morning cold start.
Usually, in our region, in such frosts, motorists put heaters under the car at night, different types of heating elements, often homemade, this is not only energy-consuming but also fire hazardous. I admit that I did it myself, there was no way out, at night the frosts are fierce, in the morning there is a high probability that the car will not start and you need to go, hence such risks. But after pouring in the additive, I did not do this, again as a test. In the morning, a pleasant surprise awaited, the car started, so to speak, with half a turn! And most importantly, there were no such strained, heart-cutting sounds. After warming up, the revolutions were 850 per minute. The trip along the usual route is 90 km, mixed cycle 60 km city, parking and warming up. Fuel consumption according to the router is 17.6 -18.3 liters with an engine capacity of 2.4 liters. Today, a surprise, the router updated the data on the consumption of 15.8 -16.7 liters of fuel. It would seem a trifle but nice.
Conclusions
The additive Lubrifilm Bortec REALLY works. Moreover, its action led to results surprisingly quickly. To date, I have driven 430 km and I am delighted. I forgot about all sorts of heaters at night, gas consumption has decreased, the engine began to work quieter, the speed has decreased, throttle response has appeared, and traction has increased.
I recommend it to everyone who has problems with a cold start! I also thank the managers of the Mitra company for their responsiveness and prompt work.
